How Do You Join Gakuran and Set Up Your Character?

Joining is one click (the group gate above), but character setup deserves thirty seconds of thought. At creation you pick physical attributes including height and ethnicity, and height genuinely matters in combat: style guides rate Hakari inconsistent for tall characters, Boxing strongest on short characters, and Slugger built for tall ones. Pick a mid-height character if you want a safe all-rounder, or commit short if you already plan to chase Boxing.

How does height affect each fighting style?

Community style guides agree on three verified height interactions: Boxing rewards short characters (fast, low blows that force constant parries), Hakari’s burst damage turns inconsistent on tall builds, and Slugger’s high-risk power punches are designed for tall frames. Everything else plays fine at average height. Because rerolls change height along with style, a “bad roll” can be fixed — do not panic-spend on your first day.

What Are Gakuran’s Combat Controls?

Gakuran’s combat is a parry-first system: light attacks chip, heavies break guards, and a well-timed perfect block negates damage entirely. The core PC controls:

Your fighting style is your build. Every reroll randomizes it — and the odds are steep, so treat each roll as precious currency:

How Do You Earn Yen in Gakuran?

Yen is the in-game currency, and the main source is the job system: apply through the Indeed app on your phone and work shifts at the venue that posted the job — Gakumart, the school newspaper, the coffee shop, 7-Eleven, and since the September updates the Club Akuma nightclub and the Maid Café. One confirmed income booster: since v8.200, shop employees who prepare DEMAE delivery orders earn a bonus on top of shift pay, and NPC customers keep orders flowing even on quiet servers.
