FAQ

How do you check your Yen balance in Gakuran?
Open the in-game phone (Alt on PC) and use the Yenapp wallet — it shows your Yen balance, your searchable wallet tag, and a full history of spending and receiving, most recent first.
What job pays the most in Gakuran?
Pay rates per job have never been published, so no verified ranking exists. What is confirmed: every venue job pays Yen, and the v8.200 update added a stacking delivery bonus for shop workers who prepare DEMAE orders.
Can you use Yen to buy rerolls in Gakuran?
No — Rerolls are bought with Robux in the Stats screen or claimed free from codes; Yen does not touch the reroll economy. Yen covers in-world spending like vending machines and Gakumart consumables.

What Is Yen in Gakuran?

Yen (¥) is the in-world currency of the school sim — it pays for food, drinks, and consumables, and it is what every job pays out. It lives in the Yenapp wallet on your in-game phone, which shows your balance, your wallet tag (searchable by other players), and a running history of everything spent and received, most recent first. Your balance also appears on the phone’s status dashboard next to your assigned phone number.

One boundary worth knowing up front: Yen does not touch the character-build economy. Fighting style rerolls are bought with Robux or claimed from codes — Yen buys in-world goods, not power.

How Do You Earn Yen?

Every job routes through the Indeed app on your phone — the game’s job board. Open the phone, tap Indeed, pick a posting, and work the shift for standard Yen pay. The confirmed venues:

Pay rates per shift have never been published in any source we can verify, so this table deliberately omits numbers. What the official patch notes do confirm is a way to stack extra pay on top of any shop job — the DEMAE bonus below.

Why Delivery Work Never Dries Up

The same patch notes solve the usual fear with service jobs — that nobody is ordering on an empty server: NPCs order food through DEMAE regularly, so couriers and shop staff always have orders flowing even when few real players are buying. For money-making purposes that makes delivery-adjacent shop shifts one of the most reliable loops in town: base pay plus the delivery bonus, with NPC demand keeping the queue moving.

The beginner’s guide fits jobs into the first-day plan: codes fund the rerolls, and a steady job funds everything else.

Where Do You Spend Yen?

Spending is deliberately simple — Yen covers the in-world economy:

  • Vending machines across the map sell drinks, items, and food.
  • Gakumart stocks consumable items, from snacks to the supplies the school social scene runs on.
  • Restaurants sell sit-down meals — Dante’s Yakiniku has served food since August, and ordering through DEMAE gets it delivered instead.

Beyond that, the big purchases in the game — skateboards, Rerolls, cosmetics — are Robux purchases, not Yen. Treat Yen as roleplay and sustenance money: it buys the consumables that make the school-sim half of the game run, while the combat half is funded by codes and Robux.

Yen FAQ

How do you open the phone to find Indeed and Yenapp?

On PC, press Alt (the phone also opens from the button on the left of the screen on touch devices). The full app layout — twelve-plus apps including Indeed, Yenapp, DEMAE, and the Maps app added in v9.00 — is covered in the wiki hub and the beginner’s guide.

Can other players see how much Yen you have?

Only if you let them: your wallet tag in Yenapp is searchable by other players, and the status dashboard shows your balance alongside your phone number. There is no published mechanic for stealing Yen, but the visibility is worth knowing if you roleplay.

Do NPC customers really keep delivery jobs busy?

Yes — it is official patch text, not community folklore: “NPCs can now order food through DEMAE” and “NPC orders appear regularly, so couriers are qu[ite busy]” per the v8.200 card. The system was designed so the courier economy runs even on quiet servers.
